my love for BOLD is genetic...

hello friends! i am notorious for loving bold colors and fabrics…nothing excites me quite like a good pop of color! i must attribute this love of color to my mother…so i’ll share a little story…

my precious mother...when she was a teen.

my mother {susan} was only a teenager, but her love for design and skills as an interior decorator {of her own room} were that of someone well beyond her years. one particular day, my mother decided that her bed MUST be painted orange…that it was destined to be orange…and nothing would be right in the world until she painted it. my mother proceeded to tell my grandmother about her plan to paint the bed orange {and subsequently change the world}…but this did not sit so well with my grandmother.

my grandmother was horrified that my mother would paint the bed orange and let her know in simple terms that should she paint the bed orange there would be severe punishment. my mother, of course, knew very well that if she painted the bed while her mother was at work that she would suffer some not-so-lovely consequences…but nonetheless, the bed MUST be orange. so off my sweet grandmother went to work…and off to work my mom went on painting the bed orange. so the bed was painted, my grandmother was upset, my mother was punished, but everyone agreed…the bed was DESTINED to be orange.

so you see, my love of color is actually genetic…and there’s simply nothing i can do about it. i want to share some gorgeous inspiration photographs of bold-done-right! be bold and have a fantastic thursday!
